Circus de Bais 2016 – Kleines Projektresümee – 30.01.2016

Der „Circus de Bais“ 2016 ist nun nach 15 Tagen mit 13 Projekteinsätzen und über 1.000 teilnehmenden Kinder und Jugendlichen im Alter von 2 bis 21 auf den philippinischen Inseln Negros und Leyte zu Ende gegangen. Das gesamte Team ist sich einig, dass sich der Einsatz für alle mehr als gelohnt hat. Mit unserem roten Zirkuskoffer gefüllt mit Spiel-, Bastel- und Zirkusmaterialien und einem motivierten Team haben wir öffentliche Plätze, Schulen und Waisenhäuser in großen Städten und kleinen Dörfern in eine bunte Zirkuswelt verwandelt. Anfänglich schüchterne Kinder, die wenig in Berührung mit Europäern kommen, standen innerhalb von 2 Stunden selbstbewusst in der Arena des „Circus de Bais“. Kinder mit und ohne Behinderungen feierten persönliche Erfolgserlebnisse und lernten Unbekanntes kennen und sich dafür zu begeistern. Pädagogische Einrichtungen schauten uns auf die Finger und werden mit unseren Methoden weiter experimentieren und für alle Beteiligten änderte und erweiterte die Reise persönliche Perspektiven in vielerlei Hinsicht.

Wir trafen bei Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen auf große Freude, Dankbarkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft und wurden nicht nur einmal gebeten, schon bald wieder zu kommen. Mit der Unterstützung von all den neuen Kontakten vor Ort, wird die Planung eines nächsten „Circus de Bais“ mit Sicherheit einfach von der Hand gehen. Wir sind alle gerne wieder dabei und freuen uns auf eine Fortsetzung.

Bis dahin dürfen vor allem die Kinder des J.E.S.U.S Kids Therapy Centre in Tacloban weiter fleißig üben, denen wir aus Transportgründen einen Teil der Spiel- und Zirkusmaterialien gespendet haben.

Vielen Dank auch an das Team des diesjährigen „Circus de Bais“, das mit einer unermüdlichen Spielfreude, unendlicher Offenherzigkeit und großem Engagement dieses Projekt überhaupt möglich und so erfolgreich gemacht hat. Dankeschön Jana Ziegler, Marie Tysiak, Stefanie Göllinger, Bernd Hofbauer, Robin Karger und Ingo Steckhan sowie allen tatkräftigen Unterstützern unter den Filipinos.

Circus de Bais – A little circus resumé – 30.01.2016

After 15 days in Negros and Leyte with 13 projects and over 1.000 participating children and youngsters between the ages of 2 and 21 years, the “Circus de Bais” 2016 came to an end. The whole team agrees that the commitments were more than rewarding for everyone. The red circus suitcase filled with different circus materials for playing and handicrafting, combined with a motivated team found its way into public venues, schools and orphanages in big cities as well as small villages and whichever place it came was turned into a colorful circus for a while. Initially shy children, who had rarely been into contact with Europeans before, soon turned into confident artists and within two hours performed on the “Circus de Bais”´ stage. Those kids, with and without handicap, were able to achieve a personal feeling of success and tried out and engaged in something that was totally new to them. Educational institutions were able to get to know new methods of play and therapy that they will continue to implement. Everybody involved was able to broaden, change and develop their personal perspectives in many ways throughout this travel.

By children, teenies and adults we were welcomed and met with great joy, gratitude, hospitality and cooperativeness and many times we were invited, even requested, to come again soon. With all the support from our local contact persons, the planning and preparing of the next “Circus de Bais” will sure be easy. All of us are happy to join again and are looking forward to the continuation next time.

Until then, all the children are encouraged to keep on practicing – especially the children of J.E.S.U.S Kids Therapy Center Tacloban City, since they were the ones who received some of the circus materials that we cannot bring back to Germany.

Many thanks go to the team of the “Circus de Bais” this year – without their support, playfulness, endless open-heartedness and motivation, this project could not have been possible and this successful.
